DIY FACIAL CUPPING
Oct. 6, 2017
We're firm believers that looking after your skin shouldn't just be reserved for the spa. Facial cupping, an ancient form of alternative healing based in traditional Chinese medicine, helps to remove toxins from the body and stimulates the flow of fresh blood, lymph, and Qi throughout. It also works wonders on helping rid symptoms of the flu, colds, coughs, back and muscle pain - and can be easily practiced at home with a few simple tools.
What You'll Need
Silicone Facial Cups – one large for the face and one small for the eyes
Directions
Personally, we like to choose a hydrating mask as our facial cupping slip – and Josh Rosebrook's Advanced Hydration Mask is the bomb diggy! When our eight-minute cupping facial workout is complete, we simply fall asleep and let the active ingredients work their magic! In the morning, our face always feels plump, glowing and refined.
The above facial sequence map indicates lines with arrows for gliding movements and "X" movements for sucking and release movements always using a gentle suction technique. After completing 3-5 gliding strokes, the "X" movement will need to be performed to gently guide the toxins (lymph) to the lymph nodes to be processed which can be found in the chest area as indicated in the diagram.
Facial cupping should be performed two to three times a week for the first two weeks and once a week thereafter.
